Here are answers to the questions we get most often. This will help you know what to expect and how to prepare for your guided trip with Nash Outdoor Guide Service.
Q1: How do I book a trip?
A: You can book directly by Call or Text (607) 423-2479 or through our online booking calendar or the “ Request a trip” button on our site. Choose your preferred date, trip type, and group size, then follow the prompts to confirm your reservation.
Q2: What’s included in the guided trip?
A: All trips include professional guiding, local knowledge of the area, and safety-focused leadership. Fishing trips typically include all required tackle and gear guidance, while hunting trips include location scouting and setup support. Exact details depend on the specific trip you choose. (Firearms are not provided however contact us ahead of time if you need to barrow)
Q3: What should I bring with me?
A: We recommend weather-appropriate clothing in layers, WADERS (for river fishing) waterproof boots, a hat, polarized sunglasses, and any personal items you prefer (medications, snacks, drinks). If you have favorite gear, you’re welcome to bring it. We’ll provide specific suggestions once your trip is booked.
Q4: Do I need prior experience?
A: No. We guide guests of all skill levels—from first-timers to seasoned anglers and hunters. We’ll tailor the trip to your experience and comfort level, and we’re happy to teach you the basics along the way.
Q5: What happens if the weather is bad or we need to cancel?
A: Safety always comes first. If weather or conditions are unsafe, we’ll work with you to reschedule. Our full cancellation and reschedule policy will be shared at booking, so you’ll know your options before you commit.
Q6: Is it safe, and are you licensed?
A: Yes. All trips are run with a strong focus on safety, ethics, and respect for the environment. Your guide, Chase Nash, is a fully licensed New York State guide with first aid and CPR certifications with years of experience hunting and fishing across Central New York and the Finger Lakes.
